A Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne
You taught us darkness held no fear,
That broken voices could still sing,
Through Birmingham’s grey streets you rose,
With thunder in your heavy wings.
From Black Sabbath’s birth to your solo flight,
You showed the world that pain could heal,
That madness worn upon your sleeve
Could make the artificial real.
Thank you for the crazy train,
That carried us through harder days,
When life felt like a war pig’s dance,
You lit our paranoid world ablaze
Your iron man stood tall for us,
The misfits, lost, and walking dead,
While critics called you the devil’s spawn,
You were our hope, our daily bread.
Through Sharon’s love you found your way,
From chaos into something true,
The Osbournes showed us how family,
Could weather storms and see us through.
Thank you for your honesty,
The trembling hands, the slurred confessions,
That taught us vulnerability
Could coexist with our obsessions.
You bit the head off more than bats—
You bit through stigma, shame, and lies,
Showed us Parkinson’s could not defeat
The fire burning within your eyes.
From Villa Park to heaven’s stage,
Your final bow, your last goodbye,
The Prince of Darkness lives in light,
Forever young, you’ll never die.
Thank you, Ozzy, for the gift
Of showing us that broken is strong,
That even in our darkest hour,
The show, indeed, must still go on.
