I don’t normally comment on things like this, but I am SO outraged at Gregg Wallace I feel compelled to say something 😡 😡

Gregg has taken absolutely ZERO accountability whatsoever for his behaviour. He has blamed everyone and everything but himself. First it was “women of a certain age” who were “out to get him”, now he has blamed his behaviour on the fact that he is autistic, see this report – https://lnkd.in/dUk4uXQU.

Let me be completely clear.

Being autistic does NOT make you a sexual predator. Being autistic is NOT an excuse for his abhorrent behaviour. Being autistic is NOT a “get out of jail free” card for him to act like a complete jerk and asshole towards others. His behaviour is absolutely NOTHING whatsoever to do with the fact that he is autistic. Many neurodivergent people are more than aware of right from wrong, and many of us have hyper empathy in that we feel things very acutely. I know I certainly do.

Gregg is just trying to save himself in whatever way he can by blaming others for the way he has acted. That is actually a VERY narcissistic trait that he is displaying, not an autistic one. And the fact that a report into his conduct has upheld 45 claims against the presenter is very telling – https://lnkd.in/dtcDvYcc.

As for him apparently not being able to wear underpants due to his autism and the “sensory” issues he has with it, I do understand that. There are some fabrics I can’t wear as I don’t like the feel of them. But just because he doesn’t like wearing underpants it doesn’t give him carte blanche to expose himself and show others his big sausage (although I suspect it is more of a chipolata). That is NOT acceptable and there is NO excuse for it. People with autism generally do NOT go round groping other women, exposing themselves for kicks and trying to save their own skins by portraying themselves as victims. Narcissists do that, autistic people don’t.

Many people with disabilities, including those of us who are neurodivergent, have GENUINELY been discriminated against in the workplace, treated appallingly and bullied/abused. This has happened to me on MANY occasions, so I know what it is like. I hope that those impacted by Gregg Wallace and his disgusting behaviour realises that it is NOT their fault, and they deserve for this to be acknowledged. I suspect they are also very angry at his statement, as am I 😡 😡

I hate the fact he has dragged the Neurodivergent community into this at a time when there is already enough backlash against us 😫 😫

Gregg Wallace, do the right thing and take responsibility for your actions. Do NOT blame them on the fact you are autistic.
