I’ve been so excited this week with the release of a new trailer from 20th Century Fox promoting the forthcoming film “Bohemian Rhapsody”, which chronicles the rise of my all-time favourite band in the whole world – Queen – and more importantly, tells Freddie Mercury’s story.

I have watched the trailer over and over again and I cannot wait for November 2nd for when this film will be released:

I feel like Freddie has come back from the dead watching this trailer, and already there are lines in it which are etched on my memory.

Roger Taylor: “How many more Gallileo’s do you want???”

Freddie Mercury to Roger Taylor: “Roger, there is only room in this band for one hysterical Queen.”

Freddie Mercury was the greatest showman and singer the world has ever seen. Since his untimely death from AIDS in November 1991 there hasn’t been anyone else like him. He was one-off, unique and had his audience in the palm of his hand. I grew up listening to Queen as my Mum was a huge fan and some of my first words were probably Queen lyrics. When Freddie died I was bereft, and nothing could console me. I couldn’t give a jot about his private life and what he got up to, what mattered to me was his singing and his performances, not just with Queen but also as a solo artist.

All I can say is roll on November 2nd when “Bohemian Rhapsody” will be released to a huge and expectant audience.
