There has never been a better time to look at attending a festival in the UK. With so many to choose from that run throughout the year there is sure to be something that caters for everyone’s tastes. From music, food, literature, poetry, pets and more, there are many established festivals to attend and lots of new ones springing up all the time.

At “Cyber Geek Girl”, we’ve picked out five of 2019’s stand out festivals.

Fairport’s Cropredy Convention: 8 – 10 August 2019

Fairport’s Cropredy Convention is run by the hugely popular folk band Fairport Convention and has been running since the early 1980’s. It takes place in a small village in Oxfordshire called Cropredy, and once a year the villages buzzes to the sound of folk music in all its glory with visitors who come from all over the world to take in the ambience of the event. An eclectic line up is always on offer which culminates on the last night of the festival with Fairport Convention and Friends with the last song always being “Meet on the Ledge”. This is one not to miss for sure.

Glastonbury Festival: 26 – 20 June 2019

The king of all festivals in the UK, Glastonbury transforms into a small village of its own for the duration of the event. Every year that it runs it never fails to impress with a stunning line up of the very best live performers and tents for every interest imaginable, such as a spoken word and poetry tent. Tickets sold out for this one pretty much as soon as they went on sale, so you must be quick to snap them up as soon as they become available. But if you don’t manage to get tickets the BBC usually covers the event which means you can watch it from the comfort of your own living room without the mud and wellies if it rains.
