Review: Beauty by Tabitha in St Johns Worcester

Review: Beauty by Tabitha in St Johns Worcester

Every so often I love to go for a pampering session, massage and facial and I’ve been to a few places near where I live. If I fancy a full spa day I always go to the Escape Spa at Puckrup Hall Tewkesbury, as not only can I book for a massage and facial, but I can also use their facilities which includes a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, as well as partake in afternoon tea for a reasonable price if I fancy it.

However, not only have I been very busy at work recently, but my Dad is also not very well. This means that time is at a premium for me, so I thought that rather than book a full spa day over at the Escape Spa in Tewkesbury I would see if I could find somewhere more local where I could get a massage and facial, which I felt I desperately needed. After a bit of searching I found Beauty by Tabitha which is very close by to me.

According to their website, Beauty by Tabitha is a newly refurbished salon in the heart of Worcester and offers everything from hairdressing, a nail bar, massage, facials and more. After browsing their website I found they had a package for a back, neck and shoulder massage and facial for £50.00 with the treatment time being 1 hour and 15 minutes. It sounded ideal and just what I needed, so I sent an email asking if they had any weekend availability as I needed to book this in around my work. I received a prompt reply saying they did indeed have availability on Saturdays but were closed on Sundays, so I booked for 10.00am on Saturday 7 April 2018.

I arrived at the salon promptly and was asked to take a seat and fill out some forms. Once I had completed these I was taken to a treatment room by a lovely lady called Amy who said she would be doing my back, neck and shoulder massage and facial.

Amy was professional at all times and the treatments I had were amazing – my skin looked so smooth, supple and radiant after my facial and all the tension that I had disappeared after my back, neck and shoulder massage. Amy used a selection of Dermalogica products for my massage and facial, and she even gave me a list of the products that she used. My skin type is combination, and it tends to get quite oily around my “T-zone” but dry elsewhere, but she chose these Dermalogica products which all complemented my skin perfectly:

Pre-cleanse lotion
Soothing eye make up remover
Essential cleansing solution

Multivitamin thermafoliant

Antioxidant hydramist

Active moist moisturizer

Eye Treatment
Multivitamin power firm eye cream

I cannot fault the facial and massage I had at Beauty by Tabitha, everyone there was so professional and welcoming, the relaxation rooms were decorated beautifully and the relaxing music that was playing while I had my massage and facial was perfect. However, and this was something a little unfortunate, everything in the main salon that was going on could be heard over the relaxation music and this made the experience slightly jarring for me, especially as much of the conversation was quite loud and there was a lot of laughing going on.

Hopefully in the future Beauty by Tabitha will consider investing in or improving the soundproofing in their relaxation rooms, as this would help with adding to the relaxation experience a great deal. It wouldn’t put me off going back in any way if I again find myself in need of a massage and facial without booking a full spa day, but it is something I hope will be implemented in the relaxation rooms in the future.

Thank you Beauty by Tabitha for a lovely experience, I thoroughly recommend it.

My Ratings

Location: 10

Ambience: 7 (this rating is only due to the fact I could hear everything going on in the main salon, which detracted from the relaxing experience I hoped my facial and massage would provide)

Service: 10

Value for money: 9

I booked “Package 3” –
